Like any humorous show, Otaku Generation has accumulated a store of in-jokes. These include:

  • Whenever the cast applauds someone, they are said to have gotten "the OG Clap". All special guests get the OG clap.
  • Whenever someone makes a particularly disturbing comment, they are "flagged", and are made to stop talking. In show #46, Alan started giving out "cockslaps" instead of flags, in reference to the cockslapping battles between the Maharahja Mack Daddy and Saggy Z on the forums.
  • Yelling over the intro to Tech Guru Todd's segment.
  • Duck Holes. This joke started in response to a listener's e-mail signature file, which read "Mon canard est en feu!", a reference to the online comic Schlock Mercenary. (Canard is French for duck.) The joke evolved quickly (in less than 10 minutes) from making fun of the translation ("My duck is on fire"), to making jokes about "flaming duckholes," to finally the duckhole joke as we know it now. The first appearance of the joke is in show #16. In show #29, the song Duck Tape for My Duck Hole, submitted by listener Dave Smith, was featured. Very scatalogical.
  • "Steamboy" - Kyle's first anime review referred to this movie as "an abomination in the eyes of God" (though he later claimed it wasn't really a "negative" review). Steamboy comes up now and then whenever someone is talking about an anime Kyle hates.
  • Due to the overwhelming number of males in the OG cast, the show is sometimes referred to, tongue in cheek, as a "sausage fest." This mostly came from a brilliant promo voiced by Scott Melzer, who, in a Scottish accent, referred to the show as a "sausage fest" and ended with the line "We've got one woman, and we keep her on the phone."
  • Show #21's outrageous review of the movie "Monsturd" spawned a flood of bathroom humor, which occaisionally resurfaces.
  • One of the cast's friends, named Jefferson, is frequently mentioned on the show, due to his unusual speaking style and his sudden and spectactular segues, also known as "Jeffways".
  • Dr. Tran comes up often, as a favorite flash animation of the crew.
  • "Tuesday Nights" - The catch-all homoerotic joke. Only used in earlier shows.
  • On show #46, during a discussion of video games, Alan accidentally referred to First Person Shooters as "First Porn Shooters".
